Not all universities or colleges have a one-year thesis subject just like mine. In my fourth year, I took up the thesis subject Entrepreneurial Management then the second half of my term is Project Management.
Maybe some of you reading this haven't been in your fourth grade yet, if that's the case, maybe these tips can help you especially if you are in the Philippines wherein teaching style and thesis format are almost similar in the entire school institution. I wrote these tips for you to prepare in advance and what to expect if you take the thesis subject.
First, the Group-mates, if the thesis is in a group you should be very particular to whom you want to work with because you will be working for a long month and to avoid being a partner with a stubborn member, consider choosing your friends or your classmates knew to you with good writing & research skills. If you kind of person wanted to expand peers or want to learn something new about other people, then it's your decision to make. Since the thesis is in a group everybody should be very open to suggestions and criticisms, all of you are in one direction there should be someone acting to lead who will push everybody towards one goal and that is to pass the subject.
Second, Time as I mentioned above, a long month of work' it's literally a lot of work. The first chapter (one) is the main concern of the panelists on the defense, the manuscript, survey questionnaire, and the statement of the problem (SOP) need to be co-related to each other to define your research. It needs your time and attention, the quality of output comes from the quantity you've given from the very beginning. Work fairly and distribute to everyone, collect it on time, and work be like a 'chief editor' this strategy is effective in consolidating the ideas to documents.
Research won't work on your own, it needs professionals in their field to guide your research documentation like; Statistician, Accountant, and Grammarian, (business thesis related to a new product) nevertheless, if the research variables require you to produce a product prototype, product testing, product formulation, nutritional value content, and promotion tarpaulin you have no choice but to follow. Sounds like a lot of expense? yep, we haven't done it yet, aside from those, for sure you have a lot to revise and edit so to result in many photocopies and prints, all mentioned require money. Needs help? try this advice, if you have a professional friend try to ask for help or to give you a discount, also, you need to collect all their instructions and recommendations they are experts in their field of study, remember that, research is about a combination of an idea coming from different persons of expertise.
Gadgets and Connectivity, not all students in college have their laptops I know this could not hinder you to get that graduation diploma. Nowadays connectivity or the internet is considered a necessity all things in the future are going to be automated the world is shifting online e.g schools, work, banking, shopping to name a few. Gadgets & Connectivity are important for your writing & encoding, gathering information, meetings, updates, and other changes. If it is not possible to meet up just like in today's situation with the covid-19 better to communicate online.
To summarise these topics, all you need to learn in advance are the following; know your group-mates, the thesis requires your time and attention, it needs money to support all of the documentation, and finally to allow the group to gather for exchanging thoughts and ideas.
